Lewis E. January Fellowship Award
Dr. Richard Kerber received The Lewis E. January Fellowship Award for excellence in clinical teaching at the Cardiology Gala on June 22, 2001.
As the Associate Director of the Cardiovascular Division, Director of the Echocardiography Laboratory, Chair of the CPR Committee of UIHC's Critical Care Subcommittee, and active researcher, Dr. Kerber's tenure at Ul's Cardiology Division spans 30 years. His research interests include intracardiac echocardiography and defibrillation/ resuscitation, which emphasize the importance of current flow, new transthoracic waveforms and mechanisms of defibrillation toxicity.
Dr. Kerber remains heavily involved with the American Heart Association, serving as Chair of the ECC Committee for two terms and Chair of AHXs Cardiopulmonary and Critical Care Council. As Past President of the American Society of Echocardiography, Dr. Kerber is still involved in many ASE committees. |
4th Annual Cardiology Soiree (formerly "Gala")
The Division of Cardiovascular Diseases announces the Cardiology Soiree 2002, an evening of celebration, honoring our graduating fellows and our returning former faculty and fellows. The Soiree will be held on Friday, June 21, 2002, at the Levitt Center, following a special 1:00 PM conference. During the evening event, in addition to the graduation ceremony, an award will be given to an outstanding former faculty or fellow. The celebration continues on Saturday, June 22, 2002, with a picnic. This year we will especially be honoring the former fellows who completed their tr-aining during years ending in "2" and "7". If you are interested in helping to coordinate the return of former fellows and faculty, please contact us.
