The Procrastinator
One of these days, I'm gonna clean out that closet and the drawers and the kitchen cabinets and take all the old stuff I don't want any more down to the Salvation Army. They'll find someone who can use them. And oh yeah, I'll get a nice tax deduction too! One of these days, I'm gonna tell my boyfriend about the guy I slept with when I went on vacation to Barbados that time. It was just one of those things, didn't mean anything and I never saw him again. Well, yeah, he did give me the clap, but the antibiotics took care of it, right? One of these days, I'm gonna tell Mom that just before he died, Dad told me he was going to leave her because her post-menopausal mood swings were driving him crazy, and he'd only stayed with her for us kids anyway. Okay, so she did spend all of those years raising all of that money to set aside a park as a memorial to him, and she's probably going to feel like crap. Is that my fault? One of these days, I'm gonna write a letter to the guy whose car I backed into that time I tried to drive home drunk and 'fess up. He might have moved since I got his address from the Motor Vehicles office ten years ago, but they do forward mail, don't they? One of these days, I'm gonna write a money order to the IRS for that year I didn't send in a return and for all of the years I claimed an employee business expense for which I wasn't eligible. They can't trace those, can they? One of these days, I'm gonna let my husband know about the time I was pregnant and couldn't stand the thought of being saddled with a kid just at the time my career was taking off. Sure, he's a Catholic, but I think they backed off that whole "no abortions" thing. One of these days, I'm gonna apologize to my former boss for pinning one of my big blunders on him and costing him his job. He's still in the hospital on life support, I think. Seems he missed when he tried to blow his brains out. Of course, this list is getting pretty long now, but I've got all the time in the world here. In fact, I've discovered that this is what Hell is all about...waiting for "one of these days" to get here. At least it keeps me busy. Props to the CHPercolator List for the prompt |
