Jacquie's Newsletter

In 2001 I retired from a 42-year teaching career and wrote what I thought would be my last newsletter. It was a difficult time. I was leaving a world that I loved, and walking into the unknown. My husband had suffered a light stroke a year earlier and was not up to extensive traveling. Our two sons and their families lived too far away to make daily or even weekly contact possible. And lastly, Iowa winters did not allow me to even consider golf, boating, or gardening. (I didn't worry about the gardening part 'cause I don't like it much anyway.) I was not, to say the least, a "happy camper."

But God works in strange ways. Due to a chance comment made to me some three months later (explained in humorous detail in the first chapter of my book, From the Teacher's Desk), my life headed down a totally new and unplanned path. That trail is now allowing me to once again write a monthly newsletter. For me, this task is an opportunity, not a chore. (It's also a lot more fun than gardening!)

I am the editor of this newsletter, and I invite you to be both a receiver and a contributor. Two heads are better than one, and hundreds of heads are best of all. Several sections of this monthly bulletin seek your input and invite your participation. I hope your RSVP will be a positive one.

To receive this free newsletter, issued on the first day of each month, simply click on the subscribe button. If at any time you choose to unsubscribe, you can do that also with just one click.

Thanks for considering my invitation. I hope to see your email address on my subscriber's list.
