The Color Blue
By Matthew Joseph Feyh

Blue is today's sweatshirt.
Blue is my everyday slippers.
Blue is the color of my house.
Blue is the color of my paper.
Blue is the handgrip on my pencil.
Blue is the sled I use every winter day.
Blue is the color of my biography.
Blue is the color of today's sky.

{Editorial comments: It's easy to see that Matt likes the color blue. And what's your favorite color? Why not write about it. Be sure to sprinkle in some imagination.}

Teen Expectations
By Stephanie Desmore

Inhale, Exhale
Release some pressure
expectations so high
that it's hard to measure
so soft as feathers
and as tough as leather

and if you're like me
none of them are lightweight

{Editorial comments: It certainly is a challenge to be a teenager. I especially like the comparisons in this poem. I hope to have a flood of teenage poems sent to me in the future. This one is short and effective. Any size poem is welcomed.}
