Two outs, bases loaded, I step up to bat.
The sun is beating on me with intense heat.
There are drips of sweat falling down my hat.
The pitcher nods, I squint, who will be beat?
Chants, claps and cheers all coming from my team,
Tell me swing, everyone's counting on me.
I grip my bat and swing as in a dream,
When the softball flies so quick and so free.
My bat is dropped and I'm sprinting to first.
Outfield's gap has cost them to work.
As rain starts to fall, it quenches my thirst
I slide at two and pop us with a smirk.
I always play hard for the love of the game.
I always play hard for the love of the game.
