"Mom, can I have money?"
"NO, SONNY!"
"But I want ice cream!
"DON'T MAKE ME SCREAM!"
"But I want ice cream!
"WAIT ‘TIL NOON!"
"The ice cream man will be here soon!"
"LET ME BUY SOME FROM THE STORE!"
Then she goes right out the door.
Suddenly she returns and says,
"I FORGOT MY MONEY!"
She looks in her purse and who goes by?—
The ice cream man!
He stares, and then he says, "Bye!"
Noon can't come too soon.
(Editorial commentary: "Summer and ice cream go hand in hand. That-away-to-go, Matthew!")
I wish that those days would never end
When there were play dates and bestest friends
Living without a care in the world
Being treated like daddy's little girl
People were so big, and I was so small
But I wanted to be big and tall
I wish those days would never end
When there were play dates and bestest friends
But that was then, and this is now
I'm all grown up, I'm a big girl now
There's too much work and no time to play
And those "bestest friends" don't last always
Who knew that the days went by so fast?
Now all that's left are memories of the past
(Editorial commentary: Life is filled with moments, and they all go by fast. This month I celebrated my 40th anniversary. And what do I have? Many special memories. So Nicole you have it right! Congratulations! Enjoy the memories, and life's roller coaster ride.)
