I Remember When

I remember when I got my puppy Lily.
I remember when my cat Benny died.
I remember when my family went to Disney World for the first time.
I remember when my brother got terribly sick.
I remember when Mom got really injured. She had to go to the hospital because a tractor trailer hit her red Chevy Lumina.
I remember when my brother got his liver transplant. It was May 2, 2005.
I remember when my family flew to "Make-A-Wish Foundation" in Florida.
I remember when I cat Minnie ran away. I felt horrible.
I remember when we found Minnie alive and chilly down the block.
I remember when my hair cut real short.
I remember when my friend, Sam, moved to Greece, New York.
I remember when I won a D.A.R.E. essay contest out of 20 kids in my class.
I remember when Dad put together my bunk bed. He builds lots of things. (That's because he?s a mechanic and works at a family-owned business.)
I remember when Mom got a teaching job. (She beamed proudly like a rock singer on the Top Ten Chart.)

(Editorial commentary: I really like the way you have interweaved the highlights and lowlights of your life in this memorable poem. Congratulations, Megan!)
